Daily pages or word count (insert hand wringing here) oh which one?

You have your dedicated writing space and daily writing time, but how much work should you create daily?
Placing the daily required output too high can be a threat to one’s love of the craft. Certainly creating three pages of additional double spaced pages or a 750 INCREASED word count is a reasonable daily minimum After all this, would result in about a thousand pages or 262,000 words, so, plenty to revise and cut. This is during the creating process. Editing and revising would not be required increased page count but probably “fixing” or working through two to five pages a day would be a good challenge.
Personally I think counting words seems an exercise in small things. Pages are big and don’t take a lot of time to calculate. A spread sheet of progress would help as memory always expands our efforts.
But most importantly is the daily routine of writing.
